Where do find a thinner bushing for this model?
Could you do this on a chrome revolver?
Question. My firing pin needle has a lot of travel in it. Is that normal?
Thanks that was very helpful and a easy process.
Awesome, needed this for a prop gun im making to see how the whole assembly works. Im surprised it is so simple
Carrying a small 5-shot on the belt was a pain (bulging, having a shirt long enough), so I just started carrying them as a pocket gun. Loaded about 17 ounces works great.
interesting about the quick trigger pull!
Go Gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love these little guns. You're doing God's work.
I just saw citation of bloody criminal mass murderer lenin and understood that this shit video was made by shit communists and doesn't worth my time
I've had a 511 scoremaster since I was 10 years old I'm 37 now it was my first gun my dad gave it to me
Mine must also be broken. Do I need to send it to Marlin?
If that particular piece is broken you can buy a replacement online and install yourself
You can't send them to Marlin anymore. I recommend watching a couple videos youtube showing how to replace the recoil buffer and then you can simply take it apart and fix it yourself. Some people show different tricks and techniques that make it easier, so watch a few different videos. It is very simple, even for a novice like me.
PERFECT VIDEO. NEED MORE AND MORE LIKES. THANK YOU.
bolt catch plunger
You cant just half cock and load it ? Seems like that groove should give you enough space
I have the same gun but with wood furniture. This makes the pump handle heavier and more easily sets the cartridge into battery. Anyway, lots of fun for the price.
Also the back of the slide. The 5 or r lines I guess it’s for extra grip. I’ve been struggling to get it to form without having the detail I want seems like there is a small air pocket I can’t get rid of. It doesn’t look bad but it’s like a ocd thing I want the edges to look like before I put the wrap on. I’ve tried poking a hole, applying heat, I’ve even put a small slit. Idk if I missed cleaning it good there or if there is a trick
Not sure without actually seeing it, but the preclean is very important. But there are some ridges that are virtually impossible to to because of depth and angles of grooves. But I totally get the ocd thing
When you wrapped the slide did you cut out the sights? I’ve been researching and haven’t found any answers. You may have answered it at the end of the video but I didn’t quite understand Btw looks amazing for your first time
Easiest way is to remove sights first. If you cannot or don't want to then you will have to cut around sights as you apply vinyl
@@RustyGuns thanks ya unfortunately I have a Springfield xd 40 just to adjust the sights I almost bought a new pew pew since its was almost impossible so I had to cut around it, don’t look to bad for the first time doing it but learned a lot for next time fortunately it’s not to expensive to by vinyl wrap, I’ve ordered multiple wraps from multiple diffent places, I’ve been wrapping anything I can I have that I can think to wrap 🤣 wish I could find a monster energy design if anyone knows where I could get one
how easly mount it make a vdo on this... from india
carried one for a while. Always felt confident with mine. Solid build and absolute quality.
30 years here, like it so much that I bought a new one. Absolutely Perfect performance after 30 years.
Get my new one saturday, first thing is to always clean from factory, my process, thanks for the vid, already have a warm fuzzy on takedown.
have 8 J frames. 4 are Chiefs Specials ( one is the stainless steel M60 , 2 are square M36s and one kind of mint round butt M36 made around 1990 or so). these guns are just great little guns. all of my J frames take turns in my pocket, either as back up to my issue gun or when I get home from work. nothing slips in and out of a pocket better than these little revolvers. and they disappear in the pocket.
how can I disable the release of the loader on the right side and make the left one work? they are left-handed and holding the gun to their chest, they accidentally release it
Buy an ambi mag release that way you can use either side
I have the Remington 511 my Grandpa gave me in 1980 when I was age 7. I've killed hundreds of rabbits and squirrels with it in my pre-teen years. ♡ Thanks for the video!
Alguien sabe si ay segunda parte . Osea como la volvio a armar 😢
Thank you for your great video !
Very welcome sir.
Thanks for trick during re-assembly.
Happy to help
Hey rusty! ik this is old but i want to wrap my stainless gun. will it rust underneath? and how well has this help up?
Stainless does rust however its depending on salt air and the chromium level.. But it is vinyl and can get scratches or holes that allow moisture in.
@@RustyGuns okay good to know! Thanks!
I'm watching this video 6 years after your drop. Still relevant and spot on. Thx!
Thank you sir
Think serial would still be visible if painted olive green ?
Should be
Damn man blow your nose, it's so annoying to listen to your continual sniffling.

Some of them used plastic for the hinge on the foreend. They were made from brittle plastic and broke after some time. Some were steel and it is vital not to buy the plastic ones.
I’ve read that you should never pry off the sideplate for fear of bending it, but you did it successfully.
Correcr you shouldn't if at all possible but this gun hadn't been cleaned or opened in decades. So if you have to. Be careful and only use light pressure until it gives. Don't pry hard.
What lower is that, it looks awesome?
It is a Core 15 lower
Did I shoot 6 shots or only 5? Do you feel lucky punk? Do ya?
🤣
Thx for posting this video. Exactly what I needed to know. I have to put a "lock" on my AR so its complying with state law..
More like $350.00 today for a real nice one in my area.
That's not easy and simple. A handgun is easy and simple. This is hard to remember.
It's a rifle not a handgun. That's automatically a huge difference
@@RustyGuns DUH!! I didn't say that it was a handgun. Can you read?
All these guns, the 510, 511, 512, 513 and 521, used the same action. My first gun was a 512. I owned a 511 years later. I used to lie on my back in our backyard and shoot sycamore balls with my 512. It was a blast. All these guns are quite accurate.
I have a question, so I have a umarex M&P co2 gun and I want to paint the slide silver so it will look like the SG-09 from the resident evil 4 remake but the gun is polymer and im going to use it for a costume and also using it for shooting in my back yard should i paint it,and also should I take the gun apart in order to paint it or no because I have never taken apart one and don’t want to break it as I got it yesterday and it was $50
Taking apart is always the easiest. If you dont make sure to cover any moving parts
@@RustyGuns thanks brother
I have a 71-72 chief. Love it. Paid 6 for it tho in 2024, kinda pricy But worth the nostalgia classic. Smith just don’t make em the same anymore
I am sure this saved many Rossi owners a lot of head scratching.
Thank you for your service. Also you could have started one one side cut down the middle of the slide then lined up the blue line on the other side and slightly overlap and would have worked. But great tutorial
Not to mention the 10’s of thousands of rounds confiscated at the boarder every week heading to Mexico !
Great channel!!! Can you help me telling me which kind of paint to paint blueguns?? Thanks.
There are numerous good common brands. The biggest thing is the prepping of the metal. Simply because if you don't prep it well it won't really matter what it is.
Cute little side kick…. 7 year old vid, he’s not your little baby anymore by now. Hope all is well.
Simple and easy. Thanks
Very welcome
